CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2022 YOUNG SCIENTISTS NETWORK-ACADEMY OF SCIENCES MALAYSIA (YSN-ASM) NEW MEMBERSHIP

The Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) is pleased to announce the call for applications for the 2022 membership of the Young Scientists Network-Academy of Sciences Malaysia (YSN-ASM).

YSN-ASM serves as a platform for outstanding young Malaysian scientists to actively involved in addressing national issues using their expertise in interdisciplinary areas towards the development of scientific capacity and awareness in Malaysia. It is also a platform for young scientists to contribute to society and create a positive impact on science, technology, and innovation ecosystem in Malaysia through collaborations with national and international parties. In empowering its position as a scientist network, YSN-ASM has become the member of the Global Young Academy (GYA), a worldwide organisation that develops, connects, and mobilises scientists around the world as well as to elevate the voice of young scientists globally.

 In relation to this, ASM would like to invite the outstanding young Malaysian scientists from our institution to be the new members of YSN-ASM with the following criteria:

1.           Obtain PhD or equivalent degree in natural, physical, or social sciences;

2.           Age 40 years old and below at the time of application;

3.           Have at least 5 years research or industrial experience;

4.           Proven scientific excellence ascertained by track record; and

5.           Envisages to make a difference in society

Applications submitted will be subjected to an evaluation process by the YSN-ASM Selection Committee, and the successful applicants will be notified via email in October 2022. All newly selected members will be invited to attend the YSN-ASM Colloquium in December 2022 to receive appointment certificate from the ASM President. Please be informed that the application will be closed on 1 June 2022 at 11.59pm (Wednesday).
