Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA®) it is the only national rating system used to measure the achievements and excellence of Higher Education Institutions for the following activities through an analysis system based on the input-process-output (IPO) model:

• Research
• Development
• Research, Development, Commercialization & Innovation (RDC&I)

The MyRA® instrument consists of three (3) main elements, namely:

1. Indicators or criteria used to assess Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)
2. Benchmark for each indicator
3. Scoring mechanism for each indicator

The comprehensive and complete collection of RDC&I data from each Higher Education Institution is crucial to assist both the Institutional Top Management and the Ministry in formulating the direction and policies of the nation's Higher Education.
