4. WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR AN INTERNAL RESEARCH GRANT? Applications may be made through the university research system when officially opened. Please refer to the grant opening notices issued by CRIM from time to time. |

5. CAN GRANT ALLOCATIONS BE USED TO PURCHASE RESEARCH EQUIPMENT? Yes, subject to the ceiling limit permitted by the grant. The request must be stated in the approved proposal in accordance with the justification and specifications. The procument procedure must comply with the university's current procurement regulations.

11. WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR CHANGING THE PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR? The Principal Investigator must relinquish the position if they are unable to perform their role for more than three months. The Principal Investigator must submit an application for a change to CRIM if :
However in cases such as maternity leave, Hajj/Umrah leave or sick leave (less than 90 days), the Principal Investigator must appoint a co-researcher to carry out duties during their absence. NOTE : The application for a change must be submitted to CRIM within 2 weeks.

| B) CONFERENCE & PUBLICATION MANAGEMENT |

1. HOW ARE PROCEEDINGS AND JOURNAL PUBLICATIONS MANAGED? Conference proceedings must be indexed in SCOPUS or ISI (WoS) or both. Articles they will definitely be published in a SCOPUS or ISI (WoS) indexed journal or both without any additional charges. |

2. WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING TO ATTEND A CONFERENCE? Applicants must refer to the training calendar in URIS. If the training/conference is not listed, the applicant must submit the CRIM(ISO)/PPP/RND07 form to be registered in the URIS system. Only the project leader, project members and GRA/RA of the related active grant are allowed to use the research budget for training purposes. | C) RESEARCH FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT |

1. IS THE TRANSFER OF ALLOCATION (VIREMENT) ALLOWED?
|

2. ARE ALL VOTs ALLOWED FOR ALLOCATION TRANSFER? Not all VOTs are allowed for allocation transfer in research grants. The following VOTs are not permitted for the purpose of allocation transfer. VOT 11000, 21000 and 29000 are NOT ALLOWED for allocation transfer for University Grants (PJP). However, transferring out allocations for the Basic Services VOT (29000) is not allowed for University Short-Term Research Grants (PJP). Only transfer into this VOT are permitted. |

3. IF THERE ARE RESEARCH ITEMS PURCHASED THAT WERE NOT STATED IN THE PROPOSAL OR IN THE INITIAL PLAN, WHAT SHOULD THE RESEACHER DO? The reseacher must ensure that the item is directly related to the objectives of the ongoing research project. The researcher must obtain approval from the Director of CRIM by submitting the RND20 form (virement of allocation) with a strong justification. All purchases must comply with the university's financial procedures and the current procurement regulations.
